Terms of Service

Last updated: July 18, 2026

These terms govern your use of klangguide.com and its associated blog (together, "klang-guide", "we", "us"). By using the site, saving a card, or making a purchase, you agree to them. klang-guide is an independent publication operated from South Korea by a single creator — not a large company, so we've tried to keep this plain.

1. The service

klang-guide is a Korean-language learning site: a searchable Nuance Dictionary, a blog, audio, word art, and downloadable guides. Browsing is always free — no account required. An account (Google sign-in) is only needed to save words, track progress, or make a purchase.

2. Accounts

You're responsible for whatever happens under your Google account when signed in to klang-guide. Tell us immediately if you believe your account has been used without your permission. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that abuse the free tier (for example, creating multiple accounts to bypass daily limits) or otherwise violate these terms.

3. Free content, tokens & membership

Most of the Nuance Dictionary is free to browse, with a rotating daily selection unlocked in every category. Beyond that, three paid options exist:

  • Tokens — a one-time, no-subscription purchase (currently $5 for 30, or $7 for 80). Tokens don't expire. They can be spent to permanently unlock a locked dictionary card or download the full dictionary PDF.
  • Membership ($12/mo, auto-renewing) — unlimited deck saves and unlimited streaming of all premium content. It does not include downloads. See Section 5 for cancellation.
  • VIP — a higher subscription tier than Membership ($20/mo introductory price, auto-renewing; this price is locked for anyone who subscribes before the introductory period ends, through February 2028, after which the price is $25/mo). VIP includes everything Membership includes, plus permanent file downloads for Vocab Cards, Word Art, and Drama Quotes (Music Videos and Songs remain streaming-only and are not included as downloads), plus Game Zone and Community access. See Section 5 for cancellation.

Prices are shown at checkout and may change over time; the price you pay is the price shown when you complete your purchase.

4. Payments

Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. klang-guide never sees or stores your card details. By purchasing, you also agree to Lemon Squeezy's own terms as the payment processor.

5. Subscriptions & cancellation

Membership and VIP both renew automatically every month until cancelled. To cancel, use the "Manage Subscription" / "Update payment method" link included in your Lemon Squeezy purchase receipt email — it opens your customer portal, where you can cancel with one click. If you can't find that email, contact us at rsl.2001.1975@gmail.com and we'll cancel it for you. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. We don't provide prorated refunds for the unused portion of a billing period.

6. Refunds

Digital goods (tokens, VIP downloads, PDF downloads) are delivered instantly and are generally final sale once delivered — we can't "return" a download. That said, if a purchase failed to deliver (you paid but never received your tokens, ticket, or file) or a downloaded file is genuinely defective, email us within 14 days of purchase at rsl.2001.1975@gmail.com with your order confirmation and we'll fix it or refund you. We handle these in good faith, case by case.

7. Acceptable use

The Nuance Dictionary, articles, audio, PDFs, and word art are for your personal learning use. Please don't scrape, redistribute, resell, or bulk-republish our content elsewhere. Sharing a single card's permalink or a word-art image (the ones explicitly marked free/shareable) with a friend is exactly what they're for — wholesale copying of the dictionary or paid PDFs is not.

8. No guaranteed outcomes

We work hard to make every nuance note accurate and every explanation genuinely useful, but language learning results depend on you — how much you practice, and how you use what's here. We don't guarantee fluency, exam scores, or any specific learning outcome.

9. Service "as is"

klang-guide is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We try to keep the site accurate and available, but we don't guarantee it will be error-free or uninterrupted. To the extent permitted by law, klang-guide isn't liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the site; our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

10. Third-party services

We rely on Google (sign-in), Supabase (accounts/data), Lemon Squeezy (payments), and MailerLite (email) to run the site. Your use of those integrations is also subject to their own terms. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle data.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the site grows. If we make a material change, we'll update the date above and, where it affects your existing purchase or subscription, let you know by email.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
