- μ±κΈ°λ€ (chaeng-gi-da) β One of the most versatile Korean verbs. You 'μ±κΈ°λ€' your passport before a flight. You 'μ±κΈ°λ€' your health by eating vitamins. And crucially, you 'μ±κΈ°λ€' the new shy employee by inviting them to lunch.
- λ¬λλ€ (dal-lae-da) β When a baby is crying, you rock them and 'λ¬λλ€'. When your partner is 'μμ³€λ€' (sulking), you buy them their favorite dessert and use a soft voice to 'λ¬λλ€'. It requires a gentle, accommodating approach.
- μμνλ€ (eung-won-ha-da) β You 'μμνλ€' your favorite sports team, but you also 'μμνλ€' your friend who is studying for the bar exam. It means 'I am on your side, hoping for your victory.'
- κ²©λ €νλ€ (gyeong-nyeo-ha-da) β Similar to 'μμνλ€' but slightly more authoritative or formal. A teacher will 'κ²©λ €νλ€' a student who is losing confidence. It involves giving them the mental strength to keep going.

- λμ°λ€ (ttae-u-da) β Usually applied to meals. If you are too busy to cook or go to a restaurant, you just 'λμ°λ€' (patch the hunger) by eating a quick cup of ramen at a convenience store. It implies a lack of proper care or effort.
- μλ‘νλ€ (wi-ro-ha-da) β The act of providing emotional safety. You 'μλ‘νλ€' someone who failed an exam by buying them food and listening to them. It is a core function of deep friendship in Korea.
